Reading together is lots more fun

Thank you for ensuring that children like Mehak and Saira* in 10 villages are enrolled in Pratham’s Read India program for a year.

Mehak and Saira are enrolled at Sarai Peepal Khala Government School, an all girls’ school in New Delhi. They both attend the Library Program, which is conducted as a part of the Read India program by Pratham. The Library Program is held daily for 45 minutes during which time the girls are encouraged to not only read stories, but also enact them with the help of puppets that they make. The Library Program helps develop a love for reading and teaches the girls to critically analyze what they are taught in school.

Your donations will ensure that children like Mehak and Saira are enrolled in Pratham’s Read India program where they are provided need-based instruction in reading, writing and basic arithmetic to bring them to the literacy levels expected of children their age.
