At attention now

When Pratham tested all the students in Abhishek’s neighborhood last year, tests showed that Abhishek could read simple sentences. As a 4th grader, he should have been able to read entire chapter books. This led his mother to enroll him in the Pratham Summer Camp, an after-school program that helps bring children up to the appropriate learning level.

Over the course of the year, Abhishek has learned to read and write effectively with the help of Pratham’s special teaching techniques and his Pratham-trained teacher. He can read and comprehend an entire story. Today, Abhishek is well on his way to mastering 4th grade fundamentals.

His teachers say that he is extremely patriotic and a great singer. In his spare time, Abhishek loves to play cricket and follow his favorite cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar. Abhishek wants to be a police officer when he grows up and rid the justice system of corruption.
