Arshad dreams of playing cricket for his country

Arshad Khan-001
Dear Nimmy, Microsoft, Avanti and Varun, Jay, Cindy, Reina, Atul, Tammy, Shavita, Poonam, Rita, Supriya, Jyoti, and Ajay,

Thank you for ensuring that Arshad and 34 other children like him are enrolled in Pratham’s Read India program for a year.
Arshad Khan is thirteen-years-old and is in seventh grade in a Pratham Support Class. It is his first year at Pratham, and was brought in by two friends. So far, he really enjoys learning English, because he wants to be able to read. He finds Marathi difficult because nobody in his house speaks it, so the Pratham classes really help him improve. He comes to class regularly because it helps him a lot, and his Mom wants him to get a good education.Arshad loves to play cricket, and wants to be a cricketer when he’s older. He plays a lot with his two brothers after school. He also loves watching cricket, and is an avid and international fan, with one of his favorite players playing for the West Indies, and the other for Pakistan. Look out for Arshad in the Cricket World Cup!
Your donations will ensure that Arshad and 34 other children like him are enrolled in Pratham’s Read India program where they are provided need-based instruction in reading, writing and basic arithmetic to bring them to the literacy levels expected of children their age.
Thank you, for doing your bit to ensure that ‘every child in India is in school and learning well‘.
