Rubeena dreams of becoming a nurse

Rubeena Ahmad
Dear Julia, Meera, Shirley, Sandeep, Michael, Ammar, Nikhil, Ashok and Ranjana, and Hema,

Thank you for ensuring that Rubeena and 34 other children like her are enrolled in Pratham’s Read India program for a year.

Rubeena is a smiley ten-year-old girl. She is in fifth grade, in a Pratham support class. It is her first year, and she is loving it, because she already has many friends in the class! She finds math very difficult, but her teacher helps her a lot, and inspires her to improve her abilities. When she gets tired of math, she’ll read her Urdu book because that is her favorite subject. One of her four sisters also likes Urdu, but her three brothers don’t like studying much. Her favorite color is white and she likes cleanliness, so she wants to be a nurse when she is older because she can help others and wear a nice white dress!
Your donations will ensure that Rubeena and 34 other children like her are enrolled in Pratham’s Read India program where they are provided need-based instruction in reading, writing and basic arithmetic to bring them to the literacy levels expected of children their age.

Thank you, for doing your bit to ensure that ‘every child in India is in school and learning well‘.
