Sumaiya, the future police officer

Sumaiya Ansari
Dear Randall, Nimmy, Sanya, Archana, Yasmin, Sunita, Yahoo Employee Funds, Vineeta, Shabnam, Vidhya, Dheeraj, Aadi, and Ashwini,

Thank you for ensuring that Sumaiya and 34 other children like her are enrolled in Pratham’s Read India program for a year.
Sumaiya is an impressive and mature young ten-year-old. Her favorite subject in school is English, because she knows that if she learns English, many more doors will be open for her. Her favorite part of class is reading the books that lie around the Pratham classroom. Her favorite stories show bravery, so it might not come as such a surprise that Sumaiya wants to be a policewoman when she grows up. She wants to serve in the police force so that she can protect other women from harm, and show her own bravery!
Your donations will ensure that Sumaiya and 34 other children like her are enrolled in Pratham’s Read India program where they are provided need-based instruction in reading, writing and basic arithmetic to bring them to the literacy levels expected of children their age.
Thank you, for doing your bit to ensure that ‘every child in India is in school and learning well‘.
