Shefa is full of curiosity

Four year old Shefa lives in a slum community in Mumbai. Her father is a driver and her mother is a housewife. She has an older brother who is a slow learner. Shefa has been attending the “balwadi” class conducted in her community for the past year. The balwadi program caters to pre-schoolers, and prepares them for school. She will remain in the program for another year after which she will be enrolled in a formal school. Shalini plunges into all her activities with gusto, and is full of questions. She loves coming to the balwadi and tries not to miss a single day.
