Thank you for ensuring that Zakiya, and 34 other children like her are enrolled in Pratham’s Read India program for a year.
Ten year old Zakiya lives in a slum comminity in Mumbai and is a student of grade 4 in a local school. Though she loves reading and writing in Urdu, Zakiya struggles to identify the letters of the Marathi alphabet, because of which she is constantly lagging behind in class. She is currently enrolled in a Summer Camp organised as a part of Pratham’s Read India program, and in a few weeks, she is expected to graduate to reading entire stories. Sadaf is very clear about what she wants to do when she grows up- she wants to become a teacher and inspire the next generation of students.
Your donations will ensure that Zakiya and 34 other children like her are enrolled in Pratham’s Read India program where they are provided need-based instruction in reading, writing and basic arithmetic to bring them to the literacy levels expected of children their age.
Thank you, for doing your bit to ensure that ‘every child in India is in school and doing well‘.
