Thank you for coming together to ensure that Abhishek and nineteen others like him get a good education.
Seven year old Abhishek studies in the second grade at the local village school in his village of Majra in Meerut District, Uttar Pradesh. When he was assessed, it was found that his level of learning was at the ‘nothing level’- meaning he did not have any of the reading, writing and mathematical skills that a student of his age should possess.
He is now enrolled in the Read India Program at Pratham, and both he and his class teacher are proud of the fact that he has learnt to recognize letters and count till 10.
His village does not have many doctors and Abhishek§s seen many old and sickly get worse due to lack of proper medical care. He aspires to become a doctor one day and cure all the sick people in his village.
Your donation, Sachin, Lakshmi, Padma, Kirti and Sara, would ensure that Abhishek, and 19 other children like him are enrolled in Pratham’s Read India program where they are provided need-based instruction in reading, writing and basic arithmetic to bring them to the literacy levels expected of children their age.
Thank you for doing your bit to ensure that “every child in India is in school and doing well.”
