Maya is eight years old and studies in Std. two in Gujarat. She is somewhat shy, but likes to paint pictures. Though she has been going to school for several years, she had never been introduced into the joy of reading, and her verbal skills were deficient. Through Pratham’s Library Program, she was introduced to a beautiful world of art through various illustrations and paintings in books. She gained a newfound appreciation for learning and loves to copy her favourite pictures from the books.
Your donations, Jagannath, Malini, Sharmila, Pat, Sarika, Geeta, Prashant, and Manoj, would ensure that Sapna, and 19 other children like her are enrolled in Pratham’s Read India program where they are provided need-based instruction in reading, writing and basic arithmetic to bring them to the literacy levels expected of children their age.
Thank you, for doing your bit to ensure that ‘every child in India is in school and doing well‘.
