Jagan loves a good story book

Eleven year old Jagan* is a student in Grade 5 in Rajasthan.  He hails  from a low income family with illiterate parents. Despite this background, Jagan loves to learn and explore.

Since he has joined the Pratham Read India Program, he is learning new ways of learning.  Now, Jagan can read with minimum effort and can write complete sentences in English. His favorite activity is to read story books.

Your donations, Chris and Emily, Chris, Elena, Andy, Kush, Kandace, Dennis, Rakesh, Jayalakshmi, Parimal, Pandiaraj, and Lesley, would ensure that Jagan, and 19 other children like him are enrolled in Pratham’s Read India program where they are provided need-based instruction in reading, writing and basic arithmetic to bring them to the literacy levels expected of children their age.
