The reserved Kavita has grown in confidence

KAVEETA
Dear Joseph,

Nine year old Kaveeta from Hamirpur village in Himachal Pradesh was abandoned by her parents when was a baby. Luckily, her grandmother rescued her, and took her into her family. She now lives with her grandmother, her uncles and their families in a large joint family set-up.
Because of the trauma of her initial abandonment, Kaveeta was always a very reserved girl, and did not make much academic progress. However, she has shown tremendous progress in the six months that she has been enrolled in the Read India program conducted by Pratham. She can now read simple paragraphs, and is able to read and enjoy the story books kept in the library in her class.

Your donation, Joseph, ensures that Kaveeta, and 19 other children like her are enrolled in Pratham’s Read India program where they are provided need-based instruction in reading, writing and basic arithmetic to bring them to the literacy levels expected of children their age.

Thank you, for doing your bit to ensure that ‘every child in India is in school and doing well‘.
