Reshma dreams of becoming a doctor

Reshma_picnik

Dear Joseph,

Reshma is a ten year old girl from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Her mother irons clothes for a living, and in addition to helping with the household chores, Reshma helps her mother collect and distribute clothes from people. Though Reshma was rather weak in studies, she always dreamt of becoming a doctor. After enrolling in the Read India program conducted by Pratham, Reshma is catching up with the rest of her classmates, and her dream may one day become a reality. For all you know, she may be dispensing medical advice to the same households to which she now delivers freshly ironed clothes!

Your donation, Joseph, would ensure that Reshma, and 19 other children like her are enrolled in Pratham’s Read India program where they are provided need-based instruction in reading, writing and basic arithmetic to bring them to the literacy levels expected of children their age.

Thank you, for doing your bit to ensure that ‘every child in India is in school and doing well‘.
