Dear Angela, Charlie, Justin, Howard, James and Julie, Kandace, Lee, Marc, Michael, Pradeep, Rajeev, Sarah, Ted and Pam, Thomas, Tom, Tom, and Trish,

Asma Ahmed is 12 years old from Bhalej, Anand district, Gujarat. She is very creative and embroiders in her free time. Her mother stitches clothes for a living. According to her teacher, Asma is showing good progress especially in English and math. Within months of getting enrolled into Pratham’s Read India programme, her reading ability has improved drastically – from struggling to read at the letter level, she has not graduated to reading at the paragraph and story levels. When she grows up, Asma wants to become a teacher so she can teach other children the read, write and compute, as the ‘Read India’ program has taught her to do.

Your donations, James & Julie, Marc (x2), Michael, Lee, Kandace, Howard, Angela, Charlie (x3), Justin, Pradeep, Rajeev, Sarah, Ted & Pam, Thomas, Tom, Trish and Tom will ensure that Asma, and 19 other children like her are enrolled in Pratham’s Read India program where they are provided need-based instruction in reading, writing and basic arithmetic to bring them to the literacy levels expected of children their age.

Thank you, for doing your bit to ensure that ‘every child in India is in school and doing well’.
