Dear Lauren,
Devadharshini is a six year old girl from Poondi village in Tamil Nadu, India. Though her parents at one time owned a small local hotel, ever since her father abandoned his family, her mother has been doing local manual labor to support Deva and her older brother.
Devadharshani could not even identify letters or numbers, when she first started taking the Read India classes conducted by Pratham. Today, she has mastered the basics, and wants to become a maths teacher one day.
Thank you, Lauren, for enabling Deva and others like her to fall in love with reading and mathematics.
